To the “younger” we will say:
Some of you have been protected and provided for. Your families have nurtured you and brought you to the place where your wings could stretch out… now it is time for you fly on your own. This is awesome! Our desire is to help you continue the journey!
Being raised in a genuine Christian home is a tremendous blessing. In that environment we hope you have learned that true discipleship is a process of mentorship. Your part is to continue to invite trustworthy relationships that will walk alongside you in accountability to the absolute Truth found in the Word of God. These friendships should encourage you to become the woman God created you to be.
However, not all of you have been loved and protected in this way. Some of you have been neglected and abused by others, or even yourself. You are young, but you are already scarred. You are not sure how you will learn to trust again, yet there still remains the seeds of desire and hope for the future.
The Lord your God has woven this hope strategically into the fibers of your young and resilient heart. You want desperately to reach for your dreams. You want to pour out your soul, but you are uncertain and a little afraid. Your expectations might be shaky…but are you willing?
Are you ready to Learn of the Lord for yourself? Are you willing to walk out the path He has chosen for you? Will you allow yourself to become equipped with the biblical resources needed to become everything you were called to be?
This world in many ways has become a hostile environment for authentic Christian living. Moral purity and integrity of character are not valued…and in some cases persecuted. To live a godly life in the world today will take both faith and perseverance. You will also need a godly mentor to help you navigate the path.
How do you fit genuine faith into such a tightly woven schedule?
How do you balance the demands of the world we live in, with the requirements of a Holy God?
How do you profess healing you have not genuinely experienced?
I have an answer to the above questions…
You don’t. You can’t. You Shouldn’t.
Faith is not an add-on commodity like exercise or education. Faith is not a process of spiritual self-help that will enable you to reap a better life within your lifestyle.
Genuine Faith is a radical, spiritual revelation that turns everything upside down.
God will not settle for just being #1 in our lives.
He desires to penetrate and impregnate every fiber of our being until our whole soul reflects His glorious image!
Are you in?
Let the adventure continue…
Ponder:
What is the Scripture we are reading calling us to think, feel and do?
Pray:
Ask the Lord for understanding and strength to walk in the Truth of what He has said.
Practice:
Begin by aligning our words and actions to reflect God’ standards even if we must adjust our habits and circumstances that we have grown comfortable with.
