About Me
Laura Adams is a native Oregonian, although she has resided in Ohio the past 10 years, she still considers herself a “West Coaster” who has been successfully transplanted.
Laura experienced a radical encounter with the Living God at the age of 27 while pregnant with her second child. Her salvation was an immediate, dramatic transformation that literally turned her world upside down. Her past, and all that it contained; including the brokenness of being raised in the home of a single alcoholic parent, as well as the many destructive choices she had made herself, were cleansed and forgiven in the reality of the Blood of Christ. The truth of being a “New Creation” was understood immediately. She was committed from that moment on. There would be no plan B, no turning back.
Although salvation meant freedom from the bondage of sin, it also meant spiritual separation from everyone she loved. Being the first of her family to be brought into the Kingdom of God, Laura faced many challenges. Growing in her new found grace, she learned to discern the many opportunities …all seemingly hindered by some form of adversity. She learned early in her walk of faith to take God at His Word and trust His ways even in the face of the resistant circumstances.
Because of this, her “ministry” was established by responding with obedience wherever she saw God revealing truth. Obeying those things and putting them into practice in her marriage and family, and then spilling herself out into the world around her.
Laura found without deviation, that the Word of God is the only “true” truth. Regardless of denominational doctrines and traditions of men, the unchanging Word alone will remain her anchor and ballast. She understands by her own experience that the risks of being faithful to the truth, within the culture we live in, will often bring friction and discomfort. But she has also learned the joy and quiet confidence of allowing herself to be unique and transparent, even as she tries to be authentic and vulnerable.
Her wisdom and experiences are eloquently expressed through her writing to bring revelation, and encouragement to those who seek to follow Christ. From this practical position, Laura teaches young adult women to embrace their roles and relationships as God designed them. She also provides practical insight on how to successfully resist the current trends of our society without sacrificing confidence and beauty. Indeed, Laura’s heart is to effectively train up this generation of young women in the way of true beauty.
Laura has studied the Word and taught Women’s Bible Studies for over 16 years within the formality of the church setting, but has found that the greatest way to teach the truth with love is through authentic mentoring relationships. Laura is passionate about seeing other women freed to worship God rightly, and become the wives, mothers, daughters, sisters and friends they were called to be.
Laura has been married 25 years to John, her best friend.
Together they have shared the victories as well as the challenges of raising three children to adulthood. They are now thankful “empty-nesters” who are ready to yield to their Savior in new and exciting ways!
